The hardest part of freelancing shouldn't be asking to get paid.

Writing the invoice is easy. Working out whether it was seen, remembering when to follow up, and finding a polite way to ask again is the exhausting part. I don't want a full accounting suite. I want one place that tells me what's outstanding and helps me send a sensible reminder. How are other freelancers handling this?
